Each Storm Demanded Fame

Each storm demanded fame

So we gave them all a name

An epithet, sorbriquet, pet name for a worldly force

So that it helped to reinforce

The human bond between a thing unseen

The mighty power

The sheer extreme

Of a presence that demands the control of the ocean

And the land and the trees by the weight of its motion

The way it pummels and batters the things in its path

As we fear for our safety against its wrath

Until the calmer skies appear again

And the storm disappears in the name of fame
