Do you ever feel like you are living inside your head?

Each thought runs to the next and the next

So that your eyes are fixed in an unknown position

Your mind engaged on a separate wire to your senses

So that you are so deep in thought about the things that bring more focus than reality,

As if the little voice inside your head is the ruler of all things.

The little voice inside your head that tells us we should have done that instead,

With the occasional distraction jolting us back to the real world.

Someone calls your name and you have no choice but to respond

You are in the moment for a moment and then you’re gone, once again, living inside your head.
